A Lectionary

A Prayer for Today

O Lord our Father, In the midst of unimaginable atrocities perpetrated against the Israeli nation, have mercy and send unity, courage, and victory over the oppressors of Jerusalem, that some may be removed and some may be saved. Help our Armed Forces in these difficult days. Bless the families of hostages and those who were killed. Bring victory to the righteous cause, and suppress evil that we may lead a quiet life, praying for those who need the Gospel, and going to personally take them that which we received through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen..

Sunday Chapel with Mike Milton is a ministry of Faith for Living.

Welcome to your Sunday Chapel with Mike Milton. We seek to provide a chapel service for those who cannot be in the Lord’s House to worship. We hope you find these services to be of spiritual support. Our aim is to direct your life to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Each message is prepared and delivered this week for you. We say with the Apostle Paul:

“For what is our hope, our joy, or the crown in which we will glory in the presence of our Lord Jesus when he comes? Is it not you? Indeed, you are our glory and joy” (1 Thessalonians 2:19-20).

The divine service of worship here is an abbreviated version of a Reformed worship service involving four vital movements or biblically revealed responses to God’s Call to Worship:

  1. Gathering

  2. Word

  3. Table (an intimacy that focuses on the saving act, the Crucifixion, and the Resurrection; we encourage you to seek the Lord’s Supper in a Christian community administered by a duly ordained minister or to request a minister to bring Holy Communion to you, if unable to attend divine services; our purpose here is to draw you to the great Passover, our Lord Jesus, the Lamb of God whose body and blood—righteousness and sacrifice—are our salvation)

  4. Sending

We pray that you are encouraged to know that the Lord is here, with you, and will never leave you. If we can remind you of that one truth from God’s Word, then we have met our mission for today.

Amen.
