A Way in the Desert

A Way in the Desert

How Jesus Comes to Us (Isaiah 40:3-6)

Welcome to Your Sunday Chapel. This is the Third Sunday in Advent.

This is the Day the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it. Let us worship God.

O LORD Jesus Christ, Who at Thy first coming didst send Thy messenger to prepare Thy way before Thee; Grant that the ministers and stewards of Thy mysteries may likewise so prepare and make ready Thy way, by turning the hearts of the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, that at Thy second coming to judge the world we may be found an acceptable people in Thy sight, Who livest and reignest with the Father and the Holy Spirit, ever one God, world without end. Amen.

Study the Readings for the Day here. I will be bringing a devotional today from:

Isaiah 40:3-6

3  A voice cries: “In the wilderness prepare the way of the Lord; make straight in the desert a highway for our God. 4  Every valley shall be lifted up, and every mountain and hill be made low; the uneven ground shall become level, and the rough places a plain. 5  And the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together, for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.” The Word of God Stands Forever.

The Holy Bible: English Standard Version (Wheaton, IL: Crossway Bibles, 2016), Is 40:3–6.
