We will remaster and release some older music pieces as we enter the new year. This is one of those. The piece is a Gospel song that is set in an Appalachian-Americana genre. I am on guitar and vocals, and Cindy Gibbs is helping with backing vocals. Steve Babb is on bass. That incredible fiddler is Tigar Lee Bell (1965-2022), one of the best Nashville studio musicians. Fred Schendel is on the engineering. I wrote the song hoping to highlight a profoundly theological message with Gospel and musical simplicity. That was the goal, at least. So, we humbly share, “There’s a Light.”
There's a Light

There's a light
There's a light
Shining in the darkness
Shining for the world to see
If you only believe
Then you’re sure to receive
All the warmth that light can bring
I was drowning deep in sin
When I finally let him in
Though I have never seen his face
Yet I felt his grace
And I truly believe
There's a light
There's a light
Shining in the darkness
Shining for the world to see
If you only believe
Then you are sure to receive
Though your sins be scarlet
He will wash them white as snow
And through all your life
You should realize
That wherever you go
There's a light
There's a light
Shining in the darkness
Shining for the world to see
If you only believe
Then you are sure to receive
All the warmth that light can bring
All the warmth that light can bring
