Fascinating! A professor in a Southern seminary writing and playing a song on a banjo.
Some stereotypes of the South are true. That's good in this case.
Nice work, Dr. Milton. My musical tastes in church music lean more toward the Genevan Psalter but the tunes are not inspired and it's a good thing to set Scripture to music, including traditional Southern instruments.
Thank you, Darrell. These songs are just for fun. I would never use these songs in congregational worship. These are just things from an old folk, songwriter, and picker. I have written other pieces that are appropriate for service music, e.g., Nativite Ouverture: https://www.broadjam.com/songs/michaelmilton/la-nativit-ouverture
(FYI, I'm working in getting copies of the Genevan Psalter in Italian. We don't have anyone currently who would need an Italian Psalter -- we do have a current need for Korean and Chinese psalters and it's just a matter of time until we need a Spanish translation of the Genevan Psalter -- but I'd like to sing the Genevan Psalms in Italian just to remind people that men like Peter Martyr Vermigli were not the last Italian Calvinists ever to exist.)

Folk music has a place, but here's what happens when an Italian becomes a Calvinist. More than a little different!

Quite welcome, Dr. Milton. There are certainly songs that are entirely appropriate for Christians to sing that ought not to be in formal worship.
In case you're interested in traditional Italian folk music, here's an example:
