Veteran Day and Remembrance Day: No Greater Love
It is the day after Veterans Day in the United States. In the British Commonwealth nations, the end of hostilities in WWI is recalled recognizing all of those who served in the Armed Forces and gave the last full measure of Patriotic devotion. The day is called Remembrance Day or Armistice Day. I have written earlier to commemorate our American Veterans. I want to now honor our Allies, the British Commonwealth of Nations.
Thank you. We will not forget.
“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends” (John 15:13).
“In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.”
—John McCrae, Canadian poet, doctor, and medical officer during WWI
