The intellectual roots of postmodernism and skepticism can be traced to the Enlightenment, but it was in the twentieth century that these ideas truly flourished. This essay seeks to uncover the primary source of the prevailing humanistic spirit, a mindset in rebellion against God and intent on undermining Christianity. By understanding these origins, we can better discern its corrosive influence and strategies, enabling us to take every thought captive (2 Corinthians 10:5) for the purpose of proclaiming Christ in our generation.
