In 2020 we were blessed to have Audible pick up the book Songs in the Night: How God Transforms Our Pain to Praise (P&R Publishing). The book was originally entitled “A Doxology in the Darkness,” which gives you an idea of the theme. My goal was to minister to those who were hurting by showing the transformative power of the Cross of Christ, namely, that the very things that seek to destroy you (like the cross) become, in the providence of a gracious God, the very things that work to save you (the cross). Thus, the ruling motif of the cross of Christ is the overarching pattern of life for those who repent and believe in the only begotten Son of God.
Actress Brenda Davis performs songs in the Night. I cannot say how grateful I am for her remarkable reading. Brenda has that gift of dramatic reading that takes a common text and makes it a joy to listen to. Maybe that is what happened here. I know that when I need to share this message with someone hurting, I often give them the Audible version. I think Brenda has added so much to the delivery of this message.
The Amazon link is below. And it is important for me to say that any and all proceeds from the distribution of the book at Audible go to Faith for Living, Inc., a North Carolina 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Corporation. Any gifts received support the Great Commission of Jesus Christ through our ministry.
