For those who have recently subscribed and for those who have done so but have not received their gift, please accept this in the spirit of our gratitude for your ministry of encouragement. Yes, encouragement. To write and have another human being read your words is an extraordinary experience of God’s grace in human form. Thank you. I remain profoundly humbled and honored to seek to serve you through writing. After battling a disease for ten years, it has begun to manifest itself in ways that let me know, “You will not minister as you have done in the past.” And so, writing articles, booklets, books, research papers, music, and stories has become my primary means of communicating the love and grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. Faith for Living is a 501(c)(3) North Carolina “faith-based” exempt nonprofit corporation. My work comes at no charge (and I receive no money from national publications such as American Spectator, where I am a regular contributor). Instead, we ask that you consider a monthly or annual gift to support the ministry. Recently, one of you gave $5,000. This will help us meet our monthly operational needs (though I do not take the salary authorized by our board). We do have operational expenses related to publishing with excellence. If we raise above the $12,000 needed to continue our work, we will find room for an honorarium. However, we do not gauge our mission by subscription numbers, readership data, or contributions. We do the work for the glory of God, to support believers in their lives of discipleship, and to reach those without Christ. That is our mission. However, any support you can provide will be utilized to reduce our own out-of-pocket expenses.
Well. ‘Nuff said, as old Stan Lee used to write in his Marvel Comics. Thus, we share these books with you and trust they will, somehow, be of ministry to you. Some are academic, some are devotional. How Lovely is Your Dwelling Place: Why I Love the Church
In "How Lovely is Your Dwelling Place: Why I Love the Church," Dr. Michael A. Milton invites readers into a profound exploration of the Church as both a divine institution and a living community. Drawing from Scripture, Reformed theology, and decades of pastoral experience, Milton portrays the Church in its dual nature: the triumphant, eternal Body of Christ and the earthly, striving community of believers. Through theological insight and personal reflections, this book delves into the spiritual tensions and historical continuities that define the Church. Milton challenges and comforts believers by unveiling the Church's true glory amidst its human struggles. A must-read for anyone seeking a deeper understanding of their faith and the pivotal role of the Church in God's plan.
Renewing Your Commitment to Christ’s Call
"Renewing Your Commitment to Christ's Call" by Dr. Michael A. Milton is a concise yet powerful book that offers encouragement and guidance to pastors and their families. Originally delivered as an address to Armed Forces Chaplains and Spouses at the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association's The Cove in Asheville, North Carolina, the book focuses on John 21:1-22, a passage that remains relevant and inspiring to all ministers.
Drawing from this biblical narrative, the author presents four key vectors that can bring personal and vocational renewal. These vectors offer practical and spiritual guidance to pastors, helping them navigate the challenges of their calling. By applying these principles, ministers can find strength, purpose, and endurance, even in the darkest hours of their ministry.
