I created this impressionistic pastel painting to reflect the mystery in the nexus of light. Using a subtle slate palette, I sought to portray the ambiance of a stormy sky in early evening. The composition centers around a furious sky over a distant horizon line that reveals a faint impression of a deciduous tree forest, The hallmark of the piece is the incorporation of a hint of orange and amber hues, diffused amidst the overarching white atmospheric light. This evokes a sense of a fading sunset, lending an ethereal quality to the scene. 'Ephemeral Twilight' seeks to depict the transitory nature of a stormy evening blending elements of nature and the passing of time.
All painterly art is but a human attempt to reflect the glory of God in creation by observation, seeking impressionistic concepts, and deploying pigment, and medium, marks and surface. The scripture that I chose to paint this piece is Daniel 2:22, “It is He who reveals the profound and hidden things; He knows what is in the darkness, And the light dwells with Him.” I pray “Ephemeral Twighlight” may draw someone to consider the transcendent wonder of Emmanuel in the everyday things of life. It costs not a penny to view. If you did no more than that we would be more than grateful. I hope it is a blessing to someone. Any revenue goes to the nonprofit, Faith for Living, to pay for broadcasting Gospel sermons teaching each week. But we share all work out of obedience to preach the Gospel, The Lord akes care of the rest.
Yours in Christ,
M. A. M.
