“Christ has died. Christ is risen. Christ will come again.”
“That ancient memorial refrain becomes the beating heart of Michael Anthony Milton’s new song, ‘Christ is Risen.’
Released this April, the song offers a humble yet bold invitation to remember the risen Christ, not only as history but as hope, not just for Easter, but for every day.
Built on gentle acoustic guitar and rich vocal harmonies, ‘Christ is Risen’ feels timeless. It’s equal parts folk and liturgy, storytelling and worship. The production remains intentionally raw, giving it a texture of truth—not over-polished, but deeply personal.”—Bethesda Music Group, BMI.

What They’re Saying
“Milton constructs a song that works as both a homecoming and a mission… It evokes the vibe of Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young and the storytelling deftness of James Taylor.”
— HypeHub Magazine“It’s the sort of hook that nests in your heart, not your head… the kind you catch yourself humming in the stillness of your day.”
“Everything about this song is on point, from the powerful message of Christ’s resurrection to the catchy beat and instrumentation.”
“Michael Anthony Milton’s unique sound, which blends heartfelt storytelling with profound theological themes, is both inspiring and thought-provoking.” — Korliblog Music and Entertainment

Story Behind The Song
The words and music to “Christ is Risen” were composed by Mike Milton after he studied to preach an Easter sermon. The song’s refrain, “Christ has died. Christ is risen. Christ will come again,” is a “memorial acclamation” spoken by a minister and congregation during the liturgy (the order of the service) for Holy Communion.
The song first appeared on the album Follow Your Call (Michael Anthony Milton. Follow Your Call [December 15, 2008]. Words and Music © 2008 by Michael Anthony Milton. ℗ All rights reserved by Bethesda Music Group, BMI, CCLI). The song was number ten out of eleven in the lineup.
Bethesda Music Group released “Christ is Risen” as a single on April 4, 2025.
Composer’s Thoughts
“It was Easter. I was preparing a message on how the resurrection of Jesus Christ had become the key eschatological moment in history within the theology of St. Paul (in 1 Corinthians 15). I crafted a message based on the brief verse from the Book of Common Prayer (e.g., 1979, 2019): "Christ has died, Christ is risen, Christ will come again." This affirmation of faith (The “Mystery of Faith,” or the “Memorial Acclamation” before Holy Communion), which summarizes the essentials of Christian belief, is now resonating around the globe as the missional cry of a liberated people. I aimed to create a song infused with energy and world music. The sound of children's voices layered over mine, alongside the voices of Cindy Gibbs and Fred Schendel, repeatedly affirming faith, seeks to reflect the reality of the Gospel enveloping the earth in our generation.”—Michael Anthony Milton, singer/songwriter, “Christ is Risen”

Christ has died
Christ is risen
Christ will come again
The Spirit is moving across the world
Bringing His children in
The Kingdom came to Asia Minor
The Kingdom came to Europe too
The Kingdom came with power
A divine-appointed hour
And all who saw
Were all who knew
Christ has died
Christ is risen
Christ will come again
The Spirit is moving across the world
Bringing His children in
The Kingdom crossed the ocean
The Gospel news to bring
To the shores of North America
To the peoples of inland Africa
And now in the East
They’re beginning to sing
Christ has died
Christ is risen
Christ will come again
The Spirit is moving across the world
Bringing His children in
Now in the East
They’re beginning to sing
Christ has died
Christ is risen
Christ will come again
The Spirit is moving across the world
Bringing His children in
